Cosmetic Tattooing
Cosmetic Tattooing, also known as Micro Pigmentation or Permanent makeup is the placement of a pigment (solid particles of colour) below the skin to create the impression of cosmetics.
Before tattooing, a topical anaesthetic is applied and numbs the area within 10 – 15 minutes. Local anaesthetic for your lips is also available from your local dentist. Colour is then applied gently, using more anaesthetic if required as the tattooing procedure continues.
Once the pigment is implanted, we give you everything you will require to take care of your cosmetic tattoo, after care instructions, crème etc..

Questions:
What tool is used during the procedure?The newest Nouveau machine. It is an electric pen like machine especially designed for cosmetic tattooing. It evenly distributes and implants the colour into the dermal layer of the skin. These soft, natural looking colours bring out best of your features and result in a natural appearance, instead of the harsh traditional tattoo colours.
Does cosmetic tattooing hurt?A topical anaesthetic is applied, so very little discomfort is experienced. Most of my clients say that it is irritating but not painful.
Where do the pigments used come from and are they safe?The pigments come from the United States, and have been made with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved ingredients. All pigments are of the highest quality and have been approved for cosmetic Make up and paramedical procedures.
How long does each procedure take?The procedure time greatly varies depending on the area being tattooed. The time of the procedure does also take into account a comprehensive consultation on what is best for you.
What is involved in the healing and post care?Swelling can last from 2 to 72 hours, this is different for everyone. Aftercare will be covered before your procedure, and an aftercare sheet is provided for you to take home.
Your Cosmetic Tattoo colour will appear extremely intense and thick after your procedure; this will then fade in roughly 5 to 10 days.
Your cosmetic tattoo will usually need a second treatment within 4-6 weeks, depending on the absorption of the pigments. Again this varies for everyone.
Do I come in with or without make up?You can draw on your own lip line or eyebrows before you come in so I can see what shape you like, or I can draw them on for you. As colour selection can be difficult for brows and lips, it's recommended that you bring in your favourite lip liners, lipsticks or brow pencils.
